In this MMA video tip you will learn how to break or release a single or double ankle hold from a grounded defensive position. It’s common in MMA that you can often find yourself in a situation where you are stuck on the ground while you’re partner is standing over you. Often your opponent may try to control your legs by holding and griping the ankles, when this happens it’s easy to become anxious or panic but there are a couple of great techniques you can use for breaking or releasing these grips. Here we look at a couple of options against a single grip and a couple of options against a double grip including using the techniques to attack, head kick and stand up.

These techniques can be used in MMA and BJJ or any submission fighting combat sport.
