In this video we look at a drill designed to force more innovation into your MMA striking by restricting many of the fundamental punches that would usually be used in MMA.

The drill is essentially a free sparring standing striking round but with one additional rule – neither student is allowed to use any attack that uses the front of the fist as an attacking area. This means that all the normal jabs, straight punches, hooks and uppercuts are off limits.

This is a great drill for making you think about a range of different attacks and forcing you out of your comfort zone, ideal for MMA or any other combat sport that allows a range of striking attacks.
