Landing Power Uppercuts From The Clinch

[social_warfare buttons=”Facebook,Twitter,LinkedIn,Pinterest,Stumbleupon,Total”]

In this video we examine one of the best ways to land power uppercuts whenever you’re in on a clinch, in particular when you are fighting up against the cage.

The secret here is to be particular about your shoulder placement, if you can get your shoulder driving into your opponent anywhere around their face then it can serve as a trigger to initiate an uppercut opportunity. If this uppercut opportunity presents itself then you can use a shoulder roll technique to generate power from very little space. The opposite shoulder to the punch will do this work so if your left shoulder is pressuring on the face then the right uppercut will be the shot that lands.

This is also a great opportunity to initiate a clinch break. This can be used in any combat sport where punches are allowed, whether it’s MMA, Boxing, Kick Boxing etc.
