This is a great MMA Drill for working your Ground and Pound on the punch bag. A grounded bag like this can offer a fantastic workout opportunity and in this video we run through one of many options for how you might use it to drill your MMA skills on the ground.

In this drill we work on ground striking from 4 core positions on the heavy bag:

  • Side Control
  • Mount
  • Guard
  • Caught in Guard

We would recommend running this MMA drill for 3 minute rounds and slowly increasing the amount of rounds that you run. Try to run the drill at the highest pace you can for the duration and keep the transitions between the positions as smooth as possible.
